Downtown Winter Garden has a new chocolate shop that has a host of items made with authentic Swiss chocolate. The location at 50 W. Plant St. Is operated by certified pastry chef Maria Harger.
Harger studied at Valencia College. When she first came to Winter Garden, she fell in love with the city and wanted to open a business in the downtown core.
Way Chocolate has a host of goods including Twinkies, chocolate-covered Oreos, chocolate-dipped strawberries, orange peels and candied ginger. Chocolate is not there only specialty, they have other sweets like macaroons, cakes, gelato and creme brulee.
Other snacks that can be found dipped in chocolate include Twizzlers, gummy bears and candied bacon. Way Chocolate also has sugar-free and gluten-free choices.
Many of the items at Way Chocolate, like chocolate-dipped cookies and chocolate-covered black licorice, were imagined by customers. They will continue to take feedback from the public and adjusting their offerings.
The shop has been open for about three months. Their hours are Monday-Thursday from noon to 9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
