The Florida chapter of the American Planning Association is out with their Great Places in Florida finalists and downtown Winter Garden has made the cut.
Winter Garden was town centered on the citrus industry and it was originally established in 1903. Now, it is one of the fastest-growing communities in Central Florida and home to over 40,000 residents.
With its place firmly cemented in the region’s history, downtown Winter Garden is on the National Register of Historic Places. The West Orange Trail cuts right through the area and activity centers around West Plant Street.

Some of the more popular amenities in downtown Winter Garden include the Garden Theatre, the SoBo Art Gallery and Splash Park at the Pavilion. The weekly Farmers Market is also a very popular destination.
One of the staples of downtown Winter Garden is the lush greenery that can be seen throughout. It is a true urban garden with eye-catching planters, landscaping and plenty of trees.
Downtown Winter Garden’s brick buildings and unique storefronts also add to its charm. It is truly a place that has the perfect mix of warmth and energy.
