As movie theaters face increasing competition from streaming services and large in-home entertainment set-ups, they are stepping up their game. One of these luxury theaters, Cinepolis, is opening on Friday in Winter Garden. The Dallas-based company, Cinepolis USA, is bringing this establishment to the Hamlin development. It features a full kitchen, cocktail bar and wider seats.

Moviegoers can dine on upgraded food choices like charcuterie plates and lobster rolls. There are also theater standards like popcorn and candy available.

In fact, the popcorn at Cinepolis comes in four different flavors. There are options like the ‘zebra” that is covered in chocolate and the “Cheetos” popcorn that is dusted with the same powder of the popular snack.

One of the menu highlights is the cinebox. It features a slider, two slices of pepperoni pizza, veggies and a brownie bite for $17.95.

The cocktail bar is one of the first things patrons will see entering the building. Bartenders will be mixing drinks that play off the themes of films being shown in the theaters.

This expansive dining-drinking theater set-up is no stranger to Central Florida. The most notable locations offering this experience are Disney Springs’ AMC and the Enzian Theater in Maitland.

Like these other spots, Cinepolis charges a small premium for the upgrades they offer. Their ticketing system allows customers to pick which leather recliner they want to relax in.

At about 160 seats, the size of the theaters is also smaller than most conventional places. Adult tickets start at $10.59 for early shows and peak at $17.69 for peak hour screenings between 4-9 p.m. FridaySunday.
